Michigan Rib Fest 2016

Metro Times and Ultimate Fun Productions kicks off Michigan Rib Fest Independence Day weekend at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, beginning Friday, July 1 and continuing through Monday, July 4. The M1 Concourse will play host to the event, providing a fantastic backdrop for the family-friendly occasion.

Ultimate Fun Productions and Metro Times kick off the summer in grand fashion, offering an exciting weekend of family fun Friday-Saturday-Sunday-Monday, July 1st thru the 4th   at the brand new M1 Concourse. Billed as an automotive utopia, Pontiac’s new M1 Concourse is situated on 87 acres along Woodward Avenue and features a race track, private garage space for collectors and car enthusiasts, as well as an abundant landscape of event space. Festivities will run from 5pm – 11pm on Friday, noon – 11pm on Saturday, noon – 11pm on Sunday, and noon – 8pm on Monday.  Admission is just $3 before 3pm and $5 after 3pm everyday of the festival (kids under 5 years of age get in for free all weekend). Enjoy live music, dozens of food vendors, lawn games, hot lap experience, Kids Zone, and more! In riotous celebration of Independence Day, Ribfest will also feature a breathtaking fireworks display beginning at 10pm on Friday, July 1st. Michigan Ribfest will showcase an unparalleled selection of unique cuisine, food trucks, and barbecue – along with an extensive selection of adult beverages, including craft beer from Griffin Claw, Blue Moon, Leinenkugel, and MillerCoors; Angry Orchard Hard Cider; as well as cocktails from Skyy Vodka, Cabo Wabo Tequila, Wild Turkey Bourbon, Bulldog Gin, Appleton Rum, Forty Creek Whisky, and Espolόn Tequila. With a list of bands as long as the food vendors, Michigan Ribfest presents a carefully crafted entertainment lineup that’s fit for all ages. The Wild Turkey Bourbon Stage will feature some of the state’s most impressive local talent with a range of musical genres and styles performing all day that will please any crowd. The weekend lineup includes local favorites the Howling Diablos, Reefermen, Dan Tillery, DJ Thornstryker, and many more!

Michigan Ribfest is family-friendly with loads of fun for all ages at the Kids Zone, including bounce houses, face painting, and so much more! Guests will enjoy hours of action-packed entertainment with monster truck rides and daily car crushing demonstrations, BMX and skateboard shows, hot dog pig racing, custom car show, and hot laps.

Also part of this annual tradition will be giving back to the community. The event benefits Handy Hearts, a nonprofit that was founded as a way to provide awareness, knowledge, and healing to cancer patients through a variety of methods.
