Local and National Artists Invited to Participate in Downtown Art Competition
Downtown Howell Art Competition Winners Will Receive Cash Prize and Be On Display Year-Round
Howell, MI – The popular Main Street DDA Art Competition returns to the streets of downtown Howell this summer!
Local artists, as well as artists from across the nation are asked to submit their artwork in one of the following categories for a chance to win the Art Project Competition, a $1,000 cash prize, and to have their artwork exhibited on the exterior of downtown businesses throughout the rest of the year! Artists can submit one piece of artwork – in a digital format for judging – for each of the following categories: Food, Music, Floral, and Seascape/Landscape/Architecture. All original artwork must be submitted no later than Thursday, May 19, 2016.
“Art creates a sense of place and really ties the community together.” states Main Street DDA Director, Cathleen Edgerly. “Our Design Committee volunteers were pleased to bring back the Howell Art Project after last year’s success, and share great pieces of artwork year-round with our residents and visitors.
