SUMMARY:St. Patrick's Parade Corktown Races
DESCRIPTION:The St. Patrick’s Parade Corktown Races have become one of the largest 5km races in Michigan. The event has seen steady growth to over 8000 participants. In addition to attracting more people to the parade\, the race is a vehicle for raising funds for the Saint Patrick’s Senior Center and the KPMG Family for Literacy. \n  \nEVENT TIME\nCORKTOWN RACE: 10AM \nEMERALD MILE: 9:40AM \nDUBLIN DOUBLE: MILE + 5K \nKIDS QUARTER MILE: 9:30AM \n  \nMACOMB PARKING\nDONATION PARKING \nCLICK FOR MAP \n\nRACE LOCATION\nMICHIGAN CENTRAL STATION \nMICHIGAN AVE AND VERNOR \nCLICK FOR MAP \n\nTHE SHIRT\nThe shirt for our 34th annual race is made out of a technical mesh with dual tone panels. We have a variety of sizes but if you don’t act now you may not get the sizes you’d like. Register by 3/1/16 to guarantee your size before the race. \nTHE AWARDS\nAll finishers will receive a medal. These die cast antique pewter keepsakes are purchased through Maxwell Medals\, one of the largest distributors of awards in America. They are based in Traverse City\, MI. \nCorktown Races 5km has been chosen as the RRCA Regional Championship. DESCRIPTION:The 15th annual Oakland County St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Royal oak\, hosted by the Norman O’Brien Division of the Ancient Order of Hiberians\, will feature floats put together by local Irish clans\, step dancers and bagpipers\, as they show off what it means to be Irish.  The Oakland County St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps-off at Royal Oak Middle School and heads south on Washington to Seventh Street. \nThis Oakland County St. Patrick’s Day Parade  Grand Marshall’s  will be Mrs Josephine dare and Sean Dare. \nThe parade is a great family event and one of the largest parades in Oakland County. Your family\, business or organization will not only support the parade but also enjoy a wonderful day celebrating with other members of our fine community. \n\nThis year we are again offering the opportunity to “Sponsor a Piper” for a fee of $200. As a sponsor your group will be announced and listed as supporting one of our talented pipers\, and what says “Happy St. Patrick’s Day “ better than the sounds of the pipes! Please note that the parade fills up quickly and participation is limited due to safety regulations.
